A steady place at the centre of change

Our Story

How Hearthlink came to be

Hearthlink began in Petaling Jaya in 2019 when its founders noticed a gap that many families quietly struggled with: the period of change itself — whether a separation, a parent returning home, or a household coming apart and reassembling — rarely had a clear, calm place to go for practical, educational support.

Legal professionals handle what the law requires. Therapists address what the heart carries. But between those two, families often found themselves searching for somewhere to simply think through how to talk to each other, where to put the paperwork, and how to keep everyday coordination from falling apart.

That is what Hearthlink was built to offer. Not advice. Not representation. Not a shortcut through anything. Just a structured, thoughtful space to help families move through change with more clarity and less friction — and to know where to turn for every matter that falls outside our scope.

Our Mission

What guides everything we do

Even-handed by design

We do not take sides. Our programmes treat every family member with equal care and hold the same steady tone regardless of who is in the room.

Education before action

We believe families make better decisions when they have clear information and the communication skills to share it. We build those foundations; the decisions stay with you.

Always pointing forward

When a question falls outside what we do, we say so — and we direct you to the solicitors, mediators, or public offices who can actually help.

The People

The team behind Hearthlink

Small by choice, experienced by necessity. Everyone at Hearthlink has a background in communication, adult learning, or family coordination — and a shared belief that families deserve more structured support during hard moments.

How We Work

Our standards and practices

We hold ourselves to clear standards around scope, confidentiality, and quality — because the families who work with us deserve consistency they can count on.

Clear Scope, Every Time

At the start of each programme, we explain precisely what we do and what we do not do. Families know from the first session that Hearthlink provides education, not advice or representation.

Confidentiality Standards

Information shared in sessions is not passed on to third parties without explicit consent. We handle all participant data in line with Malaysia's Personal Data Protection Act 2010.

Adult Learning Principles

Our facilitators are trained in adult education techniques. Sessions are structured to be participatory, practical, and respectful of each person's existing knowledge and lived experience.

Regular Programme Review

We review our workshop materials and checklists every six months to ensure they remain current, relevant, and aligned with best practice in family communication education.

Professional Referral Network

We maintain an up-to-date list of family law solicitors, mediators, counsellors, and relevant government departments so we can point participants in the right direction when formal support is needed.

Participant Feedback Loop

We collect structured feedback after every programme and use it to improve the experience. Participants are also invited to share reflections during optional follow-up check-ins.

Family coordination support in the Klang Valley

Hearthlink operates from Petaling Jaya, Selangor, and serves families across the Klang Valley who are working through periods of household change. Our programmes are designed for adults — parents, adult children, and other family members — who want to improve how they communicate with each other and how they manage shared everyday information.

The period of family transition is often a time when small communication breakdowns compound into larger ones. A family binder in disarray, a household calendar that nobody updates, a conversation that keeps circling without reaching any shared understanding — these are the practical, everyday problems our programmes address. None of what we do involves legal decisions, formal agreements, or therapeutic work. We focus on what happens between those professional services: the day-to-day coordination that families still need to manage themselves.

Our facilitators draw on established frameworks from adult communication education and information management to create sessions that are structured but not rigid, informative but not prescriptive. Families leave our programmes with practical tools — filled-in guides, labelled folders, shared checklists — and with a clearer sense of how to keep talking to each other even when the conversation is hard.

If you are looking for a calm, structured place to start working through family coordination in Petaling Jaya or the wider Selangor area, we would be glad to talk through how Hearthlink might be of use to your family.
